Superman's Love Affair

So we all know about how amazing Superman is, but what do we know about his normal personal life? Sure he's a public hero, but he's also a man, one that needs normality once in a while, and maybe even a little bit of romance.
Superman must conceal his identity in order to protect his loved ones from the danger he faces every day. His solution is to live a double life as a news reporter for the Daily Planet, and a mediocre one at that. Of course, as cliche as it is, he falls in love with a co-worker. She is an ambitious and intelligent woman. Her name is Lois Lane.
Although there have been many variations of her character, Lois was always career minded and head-strong. She wasn't like the other females of her time, where taking care of the household was the main objective. No, she had ambition, and she was going to achieve it no matter what. She is often seen as the "archetypal comic book love interest." This is interesting, seeing that her character was developed in 1938. This goes to show that men do like women who can fend for themselves, and are equally intelligent. There are also variations as to what happened between Superman and Lois. The modern age Superman comic books portray the two as a normal couple, with ups and downs (though on a greater scale), where Superman eventually proposed to Lois. In some versions they get married, in others Lois ends up marrying someone else. One thing is consistent: She will always be Superman's love affair.
